Crestwood, originally called Beard’s Station in the 1850’s, is a rule class city in Oldham County just outside of Louisville’s northeast end. Up until the 1960 Crestwood was mostly farming land. With access to public water service and Interstate 71 being built, Crestwood started to become a more desirable area. Major construction on housing and neighborhoods began, opening Crestwood up to new residents. The city was incorporated in 1970 and housing construction continued into the 1980s bringing along more schools and commercial businesses.
Crestwood continues to grow to this day and offers numerous amenities to its residents like restaurants, bars, shopping, entertainment, the South Oldham Library, and many parks. In 2017 the city opened The Maples Park, a 22 acres community park offering trails, walking paths, playgrounds, and community event space. Crestwood is also home to historic estates like the Waldeck Farm and the Yew Dell Garden.
Crestwood is home to about 4,500 residents with an average cost of a home around $307,000. Crestwood has various of neighborhoods and subdivisions that are great to call home.
