Glenview is a unique neighborhood located along the Ohio River. In the mid to late 1800’s James McFerran bought majority of the land that makes up the area and opened a horse farm named Glen View. Many wealthy families moved east of Louisville to build large estates, mainly for a summer home. These homes slowly became full-time residents for those families. The neighborhood became a 6th class city in 1985 and later established the Glenview Historic District.
Majority of the homes in Glenview were designed by famous Louisville architects like Nevin and Morgan and John Bacon Hutchings. These are custom built luxury homes are on spacious lots, some with views of the Ohio River. With man homes being over 100 years old, the have gone under extensive renovations to bring them up to modern standards. Homes sell from anywhere from $500,000 to over $4,000,000!
