The city of Hurstbourne has a rich hisotry that dates back to 1779. The city was planned and developed in 1965 and in 1982 was incorporated as a Kentucky City. The name comes from two words, 'Hurst' meaning a grove of trees and 'Bourne' meaning boundary. Hurstbourne features traditional to modern style homes with well lit sidewalks and a convenient location to resturanats, malls, and groceries. Hurstbourne entered an agreement with Graymoor Devondale for police coverage. This allows for better response time, an active home watch program, and highly skilled and experienced retired Metro Police. The Hurstbourne Country Club host mutliple events throughout the year and offers its members a sense of home. The club features 27 holes of golf, a fitness center, olympic sized pool, zero entry baby pool, tenis courts, pickleball courts, and a 30,000 sqft country club.
