Indian Hills is a home rule city in Lousivlle and was formed in 1999 after a public referendum. The history of Indian Hills goes back to 1785 when John Veech arrived in Louisville from Ireland and later bought Indian Hill farm. The farm, originally 502 acres, was held in the Veech family for siz generations, 118 years. The Veech's first breeded trotting horses on the farm but once that passed they moved to farming potatoes. In 1924 the Veech family sold 200 acres to the Louisville Country Club and another 300 acres to as group who divided the land. When the development plan was created to save and preseve the sites natural beauty.
Indian Hills remains a beautiful elegant place to live. The large lush yards, mature trees and spacious homes, this a must see in the Louisville area.
